MET-RX PROTEIN PLUS REVIEW

Nutrition Facts:
Carbs: 22g per packet
Calories: 20g per packet
Sugar: 3g per packet
Protein: 37g per packet

Product Info: Met-Rx Protein Plus have been around for a while and is still one of the best meal replacement and/or protein supplement in the market. It’s most unique ingredient is METAMYSOYN, this is a blend of milk, casein, and whey proteins, plus some glutamine thrown in. This is a formula that was originally developed by Dr. Connelly who has done extensive research on surgery and patient recovery. He found out that RNA synthesis and protein transfer in myosin filament chains get better results to nutritional intervention. The body can recover easier when given these specific nutrients. Now, Metamyosyn’s main components are whey protein and casein. If you’ve read the review for Milk Muscle, you’ll notice it has the same basic components as Met-Rx Protein Plus.

Pros: The whey protein content gets easily burned and converted to proteins and amino acids, whereas casein component gets digested and converted slower giving it more time to fuel protein synthesis. In simpler words, whey protein gets converted to energy that the body uses to work out and train whereas casein gets used to build and repair muscles and tissues. Unlike Milk Muscle though, Met-RX Protein Plus has less calorie content which is good if it will be used as either a meal replacement AND a pre and post work out drink. It has very little sugar content too.

Cons: It doesn’t taste as great as Milk Muscle although unlike most protein supplements, it doesn’t really taste that horrible. But other than that we can’t really say anything against it. It might be hard to mix it specially with cold water cause it tends to cluster up so it’s best to use a blender for a smoother texture.
Directions: Add three (3) scoops of powder (62 g) with 12-16 ounces of cold water or milk and mix thoroughly in a blender. Drink immediately for best results.

Ingredients: METAMYOSYN (blend of milk protein isolates, caseinate, glutamine, whey protein concentrate, egg white), maltodextrin, dicalcium phosphate, potassium chloride, dipotassium phosphate, potassium citrate, salt, sodium citrate, magnesium oxide, choline bitar.
