Optimum 100% Casein Protein

OPTIMUM 100% CASEIN PROTEIN REVIEW

Nutrition Facts:
Protein: 24g per serving
Carbohydrates: 3g per serving
Sugar: 0g

Product Info: As the name implies (Optimum 100% Casein Protein), the key ingredient here is casein which is the protein that is slowest to digest and sometimes, slower can be better. Some take whey protein because it gets broken down easy but a slower digested protein could give you energy for the remainder of the day. Fast digested protein may end up being converted to energy especially during work out but you also need some to help repair muscles and replenish the tissue. This is when Optimum 100% Casein Protein comes in. The product comes in a variety of flavors such as banana cream, blueberries and cream, chocolate peanut butter, creamy vanilla, raspberry smoothie and more.

Pros: Each serving of Optimum 100% Casein Protein has 24g of pure protein and only has 2-4g or carbohydrates that’s perfect for low carb diets. It has amino acids and various other ingredients that stop the catabolization of muscle. This product is rich in highly anti-catabolic Micellar casein and has over 9 grams of BCAA’s, Glutamine and Glutamine Precursors per scoop.

Cons: Since it has more casein you might want to take this at least an hour before working out because it may take twice the time for the body to absorb compared to whey. If your aim is to use it for energy right away you might want to try something with more whey than casein.

Directions: Use ON 100% Casein Protein first thing in the morning, immediately before bed, in place of small meals, and/or any other time when delayed protein absorption is desired. To encourage a positive nitrogen balance, consume approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day from a combination of high protein foods and supplements

Ingredients: Micellar Casein, Cocoa(Processed With Alkali), Natural And Artificial Flavors, Salt, Lecithin, Gum Blend (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan), Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose, Aminogen®.Allergen Information: Contains Milk And Soy (Lecithin) Ingredients.

I really like this one. It does indeed, give me energy throughout the day after a workout. I usually do a quick morning workout and then drink my smoothie made from this plus some ice and a bit of fruit. Then when I get off from work, I go to the gym and do another workout which is more complex than the morning routine. This protein supplement lasts all day long, at least for me.
